The Twelve Days of Christmas! ….Starting off a little late.

The first of twelve new releases, a new Cardcaptor Sakura doujinshi!

For the rest of December all the way up until Christmas, Turtle Paradise is taking on a new project of sorts! For twelve days straight, we’ll be releasing a doujinshi a day from our collection. Sound off in the comments below on which books you’d like to see first!

Speaking of which, our first release is kind of a classic from Cardcaptor Sakura, called “Love the Island.” Published in 1998 by the circle Shoujokan, it takes place before Sakura and Syaoran were ever made canon in either the anime or manga. THAT’S how old this book is - but because of that, it’s really refreshing to see a different take on their relationship! There are two different versions of this book up for download, so be sure to read the summary on the download page, m’kay? M’kay!

First things first! I bring to you the only new chapter of DNAngel we’ve had in three months - that’s right, folks, THREE FRIGGIN’ MONTHS, and it’s a BONUS chapter.

But it’s awesome. BEYOND ALL BELIEF. Keeping that in mind, no, there was no new chapter of DNAngel this month… AGAIN! Last month there was, though, so I’m late. WOOPS. XD

After a slew of hosting issues, domain problems, and screwups on my end, we’ve finally got Turtle Paradise back up and running, which is pathetic since we’ve been down since November 13th. Anyway, kudos to everyone who kept up with the group at our livejournal community and offered those words of encouragement and advice, since imposing our rage on others worked for excellent stress relief. For everyone else, if the site ever goes down like it has been, the LJ community will always be online with a mirror of our releases, and it’s updated whenever something is posted (not days later). The restoration process took much, much longer than it should have, so I think we owe you guys an explanation, but I’m warning you. It’s crazy long.

ANYWAY FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND THE NEW SERVER IS CRAZY FAST ISN’T THAT COOL AHAHAHAHA

Slayers Revolution chapter 5

The scanner… IS FIXED! And now I attempt to work through a beastly backlog. This is going to take a while, folks, so sit tight. However, I have figured out a somewhat tentative release schedule for the next while, so hit the jump after the download links to see what’s up. (And, woah! We’ve almost hit our fiftieth release! I AM SO STOKED RIGHT NOW.)

As for the Revolution series, chapter six is the end of the Revolution Arc. At that point, the manga will be taking a one-month break (which won’t really apply to you guys, since I’m running so behind ANYWAY XD) before the second arc, Evolution-R (tentative? Manga-wise, at least) starts up. I’ll have more information come next month around the 20th or so.

Possible delay in new releases

Righty, righty, so my scanner’s on the fritz. There, I said it! Because of this, we’re pushing back our releases just a taaaad, so we’re going to have a mighty backlog of awesome to weed through once we get everything on track. (sniff, sniff, and I was so looking forward to putting out the new chapter of Datenroku this week….) We’re hoping this won’t take us more than a week or two to settle out, and in the meantime… well, we could always fall back on Aqua Lord or chapter five of Slayers Revolution. (Which has already been scanned and is in the cleaning phase, hurray!)

New Project - Barajou no Kiss!

Okay, rolling off the train that was Rebmastu’s Aqualord failure (which was technically my failure, now shut up before I RELEASE THE HOUNDS)

Anyhow, today we’ve got something that we’ve been secretly plugging for a while, if by “secretly” you mean “blatantly”, and by “plugging”, you mean “whoring”. We gave a teaser in our donator thank you post, and I’ve been running around with Agnés as my gravatar for ages, so anybody who didn’t see this coming needs a new set of goggles. Introducing Barajou no Kiss, by Syouoto Aya, (who is responsible for some extremely pretty Code Geass mansex doujinshi), a story about a girl, the necklace she hates, and some guys, or something. I’m proud to say I did a good portion of the work this chapter (EAT IT REBMASTU), what with all the redrawing this took. It was insane. Now READ IT BECAUSE IT’S PRETTY.

Two more notes that I think I need to elaborate on. We were initially going to release this after the first volume was out, but after editing it, the chapter turned out so HQ that we decided to release as-is. Secondly, Agnés is actually written アニス, which can also translate to “Anise” or something similar, but appears most often when foreigners transliterate their names in katakana. Additionally, Agnés’ father is possibly foreign (especially considering his job), so we decided Agnés was more appropriate. If it makes you feel any better, the “g” is silent.

In other news, we’ve met the donation goal, so the site won’t be shut down! HAY HAY YOU GUYS ROCK YOU KNOW. YOU KNOW?

I… I’m out of excuses! Fresh out! Okay, so I did translate thisi chapter while I was doing chapter 39 of Super Explosive simultaneously, so the switch between SAIRAAAG to SEYRUUUN is a little jarring. OKAY, OKAY, BAD EXCUSE, BUT STILL. I’M CONFUUUUSED.

On page 72, that dude, again, should be screaming “SEYRUUUUN!” Not “SAIRAAG!” SAIRAAG COULDN’T KEEP ITS OWN FRIGGIN’ CITY, LET ALONE A SHIP. GOD. I SUCK.

So I beefed up with the last chapter and accidentally called Seyruun “Sairaag” a couple of times. XD Woops! Went back and corrected it. Remember, dudes and dudettes, if you ever find a stupid error in any of my translations (I’ve done the name thing a couple of times, actually….), go ahead and let us know in the comments.
