After taking a two-year long hiatus from the series, DNAngel has finally resumed, much to the delight of fans all around the world! But why did Argentine kidnap Risa in the first place….?

@Rebmatsu:
Hmm…I went to her house and saw volumes of DN Angel mangas (though I didn’t touched it or something). I’m not really sure if it is 15, but I remember it was 15. XD
Anyway, I’ll just ask her how many volumes she has tomorrow. ^_^

@TuckinFypo
I just got back from Japan–the latest volume out is 13…I think it came out Oct 17th, 08….it took me forever to find it because I didn’t know how Japanese bookstores were organized…The only chapter out that *isn’t* in book form yet is the Argentine special (which I also had to go out and buy)…..which stinks since we all want more chapters, right?
So my question for the scanlators is, have you read any news about what the hold up is? Anything on any Japanese forums or in Asuka? I can’t read well enough to make heads or tails of it without liberal furigana….Thanks for your great releases too!

I haven’t found any official announcements directly referencing the recent break, but then again, I haven’t really been looking…. However, I can make an educated guess as to what’s happened! Sugisaki recently began a new series called Ascribe to Heaven which, if you’ll reference the page, is currently ongoing and seems to be updating regularly. The first chapter was released around the same time as the Argentine Special, so odds are good she’s placed DNAngel on the back-burner while she works on this new series of hers.
On a dreadfully dreary note, Sugisaki has shown in the past that she has a terrible track record with finishing series she’s started. (Neither of her Lagoon Engine series, nor Candidate for Goddess have been completed.)

It’s disappointing to see that DNAngel’s been dropped. (Assuming there’s no mistake in your manga directory.)
Thank you for all the very lovely scans. Those late-night manga readings were wonderful. ;___;
(P.s. Keep up the good work, the quality of your scans are amazing. Tons better than any I’ve seen. <3)

Presuming that the reason DNAngel was dropped was due to the lack of chapters, is it safe to say that it will be picked up again when a new chapter does come out?
*crosses fingers for a yes*

Sorry to disappoint, but for now the answer is “no”. We over here at TP decided to pick up DNAngel only because we were under the impression that Sugisaki had resumed the series with the intent to complete it, which obviously isn’t the case, and now we feel like we wasted a whole lot of time with yet another dead end that English-speaking fans would have been able to read regardless of whether or not we picked it up, what with Tokyo Pop’s impending release of volume 12 this Summer.
This is Reb, COMPLETELY BUTT-HURT ABOUT THE WHOLE THING.
(BTW, the translation for chapter 1 is hella bad. Just sayin’, so nobody lynches me later on when the GOOD translation comes out.)

Awww, DN Angel is being dropped. Thanks for the chapters that you guys released. I’ll miss them. And it looks like DN Angel is on haitus with the mangaka again.

Yeah, we would have kept releasing if Sugisaki had kept a solid run with it (and removed links as release dates were announced, you know), but she decided to drop off and showcase her brilliant mankaka ADD and start work on some other project =/ It’s just tiring starting and stopping something on the author’s whim. Buuut Reb explained that one much better than I did.

Well, it can’t be helped so that’s cool. thanks for everything you guys had done thus far. it was really appreciated on my part. ugh, the only thing now is to wait again… another f***ing two years probably or something…-_-
thanks again though, the time and effort may have been ‘wasted’ but it was certainly enjoyed nonetheless. ^_^

Humh… I wonder… Can I use your D.N.Angel scanlation to translate it into Vietnamese ? I translated it here : http://kou.plus.vn.
P/S : I asked permission late so I’m sorry, because I didn’t know this thing before (one of my friends has told me and then I knew it !)

I don’t mind, just credit (and link) Turtle Paradise for the scans and original translation.
